As a Veteran-Owned company, we’re proud to stand behind our nation’s Quiet Professionals. With every bottle of Crum’s, you’re not just turning up the heat — you’re helping us give back. A portion of every purchase goes directly to the Green Beret Foundation, supporting those who’ve sacrificed for us all.

As a former member of the Army’s Special Forces, Chris has a deep-rooted desire to give back to his fellow Green Berets — a value that’s woven into the culture at Crum’s.
These Quiet Professionals face immense danger and demand unmatched dedication. At Crum’s, we believe it’s our duty to honor their selfless service — especially those who’ve been injured or made the ultimate sacrifice.
That’s why we donate a minimum of 5% of all annual profits to the Green Beret Foundation, which provides financial, emotional, and career support to injured Green Berets, their families, and those transitioning to civilian life.
Whether it’s covering hospital costs after an injury, providing long-term recovery resources, supporting career transitions, or helping families navigate the loss of a loved one, the Green Beret Foundation is there every step of the way. Their mission is to honor the sacrifice of our Special Forces by ensuring they and their families receive the care, support, and respect they deserve — and we’re proud to stand with them.
Every bottle of Damn Good Sauce helps fuel that mission.
DAMN GOOD SAUCE MAKERS
CHRIS CRUM
Founder, Former Special Forces
Operator & Pepper Cultivator
Chris Crum served ten years in the U.S. Army, most of them in Special Forces, from 1994-2004. Along the way, from Colorado to Kosovo to D.C., he always carried one passion with him—peppers. Since 2000, he’s been growing and experimenting with them, creating sauces that quickly became a favorite among friends and family. What began as a hobby soon grew into something more, and with a little encouragement, Crum’s was born—built on the same dedication and teamwork that defined his service.
DOUG CLIFT
Co-Founder, Master of Numbers
Crum’s Sauceaholic
Doug Clift, a founding member of Crum’s and lifelong pepper enthusiast, joined forces with his friend Chris to launch the company in 2014. A career civil servant who’s worked as a Program Manager for the Department of the Navy, the Patent and Trademark Office, and the Census Bureau, Doug brought the know-how to help get Crum’s off the ground and has remained a dedicated team member—and loyal supporter of every sauce—ever since.
RUSSELL CLIFT
Partner, Retired Marine Pilot
Compliance Captain
Russell Clift came on board in 2015, taking on the crucial behind-the-scenes work—making sure every sauce meets FDA and state regulations, keeping production logs in line, and generally keeping things running smoothly. It may not sound glamorous, but it keeps the sauces on the shelf and out of trouble. A retired Marine pilot and active commercial pilot, Russell shares Chris’s military roots and the same dedication it takes to tackle any mission—whether in the air or in the kitchen.
